The Accreditation Council on Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP) and the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) recognize The Medical Letter as a provider of continuing medical education. The accreditation statements are:
- ACCME: The Medical Letter is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians. The Medical Letter designates this educational activity for up to 26 hours (1 hour per bi-weekly issue) in Category 1 credit towards the AMA Physician’s Recognition Award.
- AAFP: The Medical Letter educational activity has been reviewed and is acceptable for up to 26 Prescribed credits by the American Academy of Family Physicians. Term of approval is for two-years from the beginning distribution date of 1/1/06 with option for yearly renewal.
- ACPE: The Medical Letter is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education as a provider of continuing pharmacy education.
The self-study tests are available in print or online as a semi-annual comprehensive exam or as an online per-issue series. Participants may earn up to 26 Category 1 credits per year.
